Where are we heading from here?
Through pre-clinical and clinical approaches, we have now defined several key targets of androgen excess in the female brain, characterised specific mechanisms by which androgen actions shape the female brain, and linked specific windows of anti-androgen therapy with benefits in long-term reproductive health. With the development of refined tools, the establishment of clinical relevance, and the growth and breadth of expertise in our team, we are now well positioned to move even deeper into our understanding of androgen excess in the female brain and move further down the translational pipeline to better treat PCOS
Our specific goals
1
To understand the specific cellular and molecular impacts of female androgen excess
2
To characterise the central mechanisms underpinning androgen excess-related central pathology
3
To identify the cellular, systems and clinical impact of available therapies on PCOS-related pathology
Our Team
We are a collaborative team comprised of several researchers who have been involved with us from the start, as well as a host of newer members who bring new insights and clinical expertise.
